I have hosted/been part of 50+ hackathons in the past decade. I was working with organisations like the International Cooperative Alliance for bringing more youngsters to cooperative entrepreneurship.

Hackathons are found to be a very effective way to engage youth to understand the concepts of cooperatives and how to build and nature cooperatives in the digital world we are living in.

After our successful experiments with hackathons as a method for youth inclusion, Hosting hackathons became part of the Global Cooperative Entrepreneurship program. The ambassadors in the program as supposed to do hackathons in their regions to attract more youth to the possibility of cooperatives in the languages millennials understand using the tools they are familiar with such as startups.

Sharing some resources that could be helpful for people who are looking to host a hackathon as well as who are doing train the trainer for hosting hackathons.

Coopathon 1.0 After Movie

Summary: We hosted coopathon 1.0 in IIM Kozhikode, Kerala, India. The focus of the program was making use of technology to solve problems from a cooperative background. It was more like a tech hackathon with coop problem statements.
